Made entirely from a single icon block of Merlot, Karen 2024 is a dry, complex, and age-worthy rosé. Vines were carefully managed with shoot and leaf thinning, allowing optimal sun exposure and even ripening. Hand-harvested during the cool early hours, bunch and berry selection occurred over multiple passes between véraison and harvest. The grapes were gently whole-bunch pressed with pressing halted at the precise moment optimal structure and clarity were achieved. Fermented to dryness at low temperatures, the wine was aged for 4–6 months on fine lees in tank and barrel prior to blending and bottling.
Tasting Notes: Freshly pressed pomegranate with subtle nuances almond blossoms and a hint of spice. Palate: Vibrant flavours of fresh pomegranate mixed with raspberries and red apples, gives a refreshing first impression on the palate! The fresh, crisp wine shows nuances of spice indicating it’s a serious, complex rosé. Integrated soft structure with a lingering minerality that leads to a long, memorable finish. The mouthfeel will further evolve during bottle ageing to an even rounder, more complex rosé.
