Mick and Jeanine Craven embody the artisanal, natural spirit of the Cape wine scene. Their wines, crafted from single vineyard, single varietal grapes exclusively within the Stellenbosch region, are known for their minimal intervention and subtle elegance. The Cravens are dedicated to showcasing the unique terroir of Stellenbosch.

The grapes are left 100% whole bunch and lightly stomped by foot to extract a little juice. Very gentle pumpovers are performed once or twice daily throughout fermentation, as we want to minimise extraction and maintain as many whole bunches as possible. After pressing, the wine is aged in a concrete tank for 10 months. We feel that elevage in concrete helps to showcase the purity of this vineyard site.

Tasting Notes: On the nose alluring notes of violets, black berries, pepper, leafy elements, and fynbos. Sappy, harmonious, excellent fruit concentration, bright acidity, firm tannins, dry finish. This is a sophisticated, terroir-focused Syrah that emphasizes freshness and structure over heavy opulence, making it a standout, with critics noting its excellent balance and longevity, pairing well with grilled meats or rich savory dishes. 

Grapes from Devon Valley. 100% whole-bunch fermentation in stainless steel tank before maturation in concrete. Alluring aromatics of violets, black berries, a pleasant leafy note and pepper. The palate is beautifully sappy and harmonious – excellent fruit concentration and bright acidity before appropriately firm tannins, the finish super-dry and persistent. Best release yet. Alc: 13%.
