New Releases, Allocation, Rare & Collector Wines
At Bx Wine, we go looking for the wines other people miss. This collection is built around small-batch South African producers, allocation wines you won't find on every shelf, and vintages that are getting harder to come by. Every bottle here earned its place for character and craftsmanship, not because it was easy to source.
Whether you're hunting a specific vintage for your collection or just want to discover something new before everyone else does, this is where to start looking. Browse the selection below, and if there's a wine, producer, or vintage you can't find, reach out. We know the cellars, and we'll do what we can to track it down for you.
"Many of these are also available by the glass at the bar, come try before you buy"
New Releases: The newest vintages arriving at Bx Wine, often before they reach general retail. These are freshly bottled wines from boutique South African producers, sometimes only weeks out of the cellar. Buying on release usually means first access and the best available price, before small production runs sell out.
Allocation Wines: Allocation wines are bottles made in such small volumes that the producer controls who gets to buy them, rather than selling openly on the shelf. These are also can be known as niche wines. Producers like Donavan Rall, Savage, Sadie Family, Alheit, Porseleinberg and Damascene are classic examples: demand regularly outstrips supply, so these estates release fixed quantities to trusted merchants and loyal customers. At Bx Wine, our allocation wines are reserved in advance directly with the producer, which means limited stock and no guarantee of a second batch.
Rare & Collector Wines: Rare and Collector wines are bottles worth holding onto: old vintages no longer in production, single-vineyard cuvées made in tiny numbers, or wines with genuine proven ageing potential. Think older vintages of Kanonkop Paul Sauer, Vin de Constance, Mullineux, Kershaw or Boekenhoutskloof Syrah, the kind of bottles that hold their value and their story. These are the bottles serious collectors seek out to build a cellar, mark an occasion, or simply own something increasingly hard to find.
