Polished, expressive, refined Saint-Joseph from one of the greatest names of the northern Rhône. The wine is sourced from different plots in an around the village of Mauves. The 2021, aged in barrel for a few months, is on the fruit with a lovely, long finish
Offerus comes from vines ranging from young plantings to 80 years old on granite soils around Mauves, Tournon, and Saint-Jean-de-Muzols, half destemmed and aged 18 months in barrique and foudre.
Tasting Notes: A complex nose of violets, red berries, smoked meat, iodine, and white pepper. Medium-bodied with notable acidity and fine, well-integrated tannins. Notes of bacon fat, dark fruits, pepper, and sometimes a hint of herbal or "green" undertones typical of the cool year. It has a "lean and racy" feel, often described as having "no fat" and displaying a "triathlete" character of lean muscle and firm structure
