Sourced from a beautiful, elevated bushvine vineyard in the Paardeberg, this extremely sought-after red is made with 100% whole bunches (partially carbonic) and matured for 8 months in older French Oak.
Tasting Notes: A beautifully perfumed and expressive Grenache, displaying remarkable purity and finesse from the first pour. The nose is alive with vibrant purple fruits, wild raspberry, and ripe red cherry, complemented by lifted floral aromas of rose petal, violet, and a delicate hint of fine musk. Whole-bunch fermentation contributes an additional layer of aromatic complexity, revealing subtle notes of dried herbs, exotic spice, and fragrant floral lift.
Crafted from 100% whole bunches and matured entirely in large-format foudre, the wine retains exceptional freshness while allowing the fruit and vineyard character to take centre stage. The palate is more focused and finely tuned than the previous vintage, delivering impressive precision and energy. Bright, juicy red and purple berry fruit is balanced by a savoury undertone and a finely textured mineral edge that reflects its granite soils.
The tannins are exceptionally refined, coating the palate with a silky yet structured framework that gives the wine both elegance and longevity. While immediately inviting with its succulent fruit and vibrant acidity, there is an underlying seriousness and depth that unfolds with each sip. The finish is long, poised, and effortlessly graceful, lingering with floral perfume, gentle spice, and a persistent mineral freshness that makes this an outstanding expression of Grenache.
Food Pairing: Chill slightly and serve with lamb chops, duck breast, mushroom pasta, charcuterie, game , or creamy fatty cheeses like brie and camembert.
