A vibrant Riesling that captures the cool-climate energy of Elgin and the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley.
Named after Chi, meaning "life force" and inspired by CHIUTA, the African rain god, this handcrafted Riesling reflects the vitality of its exceptional vineyard sites. Sourced predominantly from Elgin, with a small portion from the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, the 2026 vintage enjoyed a long, cool growing season that preserved remarkable freshness while developing expressive aromatics and layered fruit.
Tasting Notes: The nose is beautifully perfumed with citrus blossom, yellow flowers, ripe pear and white peach, followed by hints of ginger and flinty minerality. The palate is textured and vibrant, balancing juicy orchard fruit with a gentle touch of natural sweetness. Bright acidity keeps the wine focused and refreshing, while a subtle savoury finish adds complexity and impressive length.
Food Pairing: A superb partner to fragrant Thai curries, Vietnamese rice paper rolls, sushi, pork belly with apple, soft goat's cheese, or a peach and burrata salad. Its delicate sweetness also makes it an excellent match for dishes with a touch of spice.
Analysis: Alc. 11.0% | TA 6.7 g/L | pH 3.10 | RS 13.5 g/L
