Cape Town Wine Hub, a company established by wine industry veteran Tanja Beutler and Flagan Mitchley in 2017. Beutler's love for Rhône-style blends is the inspiration behind this wine.
This classic Rhone-style White blend is 88% Verdelho, 6% Marsanne, and 6% Grenache Blanc. The Verdelho was fermented in older French oak, while the other components were fermented in terracotta clay, and the wine was left on fine lees for nearly a year, with occasional batonnage.
Tasting Notes: On the nose white flower and mountain herb aromas are complemented by lime, citrus, and pink grapefruit notes. Full-bodied with flavors of ripe apricot, marmalade, and an almond creaminess, intertwined with light oak. The palate has a pronounced texture and a dry, pithy finish.
The Voor Paardeberg has developed a reputation as the source of some of South Africa's most interesting white blends, typified by the quality of this cuvée of Verdelho and 6% each of Grenache Blanc and Marsanne. White flower and mountain herb aromas are complemented by lime, citrus and pink grapefruit flavours. 2024-27 - Tim Atkin 92
